LIGHTING CEREMONY; The base Christmas Tree lighting ceremony is at 5 p.m. on the east side of the Base Chapel, Bldg. 475. Col. Seb Romano, 75th ABW commander, hosts this warming event After carols are sung, the switch will be thrown on the giant evergreen tree. The star at the top will light the way for a spe- cial guest's arrival from the North Pole. Santa will join the guests and head inside the Chapel Annex for fellowship and refreshments. In addition, the jolly 4-- bearded guy in the red suit will sit for pictures with his young admirers. Families are encouraged to attend and bring their cameras. WINTER WONDERLAND in Santa's Workshop, 2 - 6 p.m. at the Thornton Community Center, sponsored by the 75th Services Division including Information, Tickets, and Travel; Outdoor Recreation; Child Development Center; Youth Center; Family Child Care; and the Base Chapel. Activities include family portraits, crafts, a "Pin the Nose on the Rudolph" game, ski display, holiday stories, a cookie decorating booth and judging of the Christmas Card Lane contest. Saturday AIRPLANE TALK: The Hill Aerospace Museum's Airplane Talk series continues with a talk by Norman Tanner from Salt Lake City. Tanner flew into Italy in World War II with the 5th Army, spotting artillery during the Anzio invasion. He also flew with the 7th Army, 3rd Division after the invasion of France, and was the first American officer to enter Hitler's Berchtesgaden. The program is at 1 p.m. in the museum classroom and admission is free. ICE SKATING at Ogden Ice Sheet, sponsored by p.m. for ages Youth Activities. In addition to plaques, the Engraving Shop offers a large selection of eagles, mahogany book clocks, custom trophies, pen sets, desk wedges, name tags, stamps, plastic signs, progressive plaques, mugs and ribbons. The laser engraver can engrave on almost any material including wood and glass. The new sublimation system can add color to plaques, name tags and other products.
