MLT nominees must possess a high level of interpersonal . skills, as well as exceptional maturity, flexibility and Nominees must meet all physical, weight and mental fitness standards as directed by the USAF. MLT members are from all branches of the armed ' services and provide an excellent opportunity for joint exposure and career broadening. Tour length is 179 days. The program is open to all active duty captains and majors; however, preference given to members of the Foreign Area Officer program - 16FX16PX. Host country language skills are desirable, but not mandatory. The countries, grade requirements, nomination deadlines, reporting dates and EUCOM team training date in the current MLT requirement are Moldova (Mol-003captains and majors, March 3, July 1, July 12; Georgia (Geo-003captains and majors, April 14, August 12, Sept. 6; Ukraine (Ukr-003captains and majors, April 28, Aug. 26, Sept. 6. Selectees will attend indoctrination courses subsequent to arriving at the TDY location. Volunteering for a MLT requirement doesn't insure selection.
