Hundreds of people had the chance to eat. mingle and share holiday cheer uith one 1 another. However, some commanders and officers did not get the entire night off. They manned the food lines and served the many people attending the feast. "It (the holiday feast) was interesting," said Airman 1st Class Patrick Hamilton, 388th Operational Squadron Support Targeteer. "It's not often you see an It v 388th FW, Apple Village share meal during traditional holiday celebration i 0 1 d or an 0-- 5 somebody that's in charge, a wing commander, or a squadron commander, participating and serving you food, it show s that they care about you by being involved and being seen. It makes a difference. It makes them seem more human because in the military there is always a rank thing and you are always thinking P's and Q's when you are around them, but the commanders were haing fun and joking around with everyone and it (the holiday feast) seemed more relaxed." Residents from the Apple Village retirement home also had a chance to join in the holiday festivities. "I've only been in the Apple Village for a month, so this was my first time," said Ms. Sue Fa'Afete, one of many guests from Apple Village. "I think it was a wonderful chance to get out, and a great w ay to meet people," she said.
