Show FISH AND GAME HIGHLIGHTS Whiterocks Remodeling A major construction and remodeling re-modeling contract will start soon at the state's Whiterocks fish hatchery hatch-ery following the recent award of an $83,881.00 contract for this purpose. Harold S. Crane, director of the Department of Fish and Game, noted no-ted the work was in line with commission com-mission policy to bring all hatchery and other department installations up to maximum efficiency as rapidly rapid-ly as available funds will permit. Cement work will include the building of 24 new cement rearing ponds for larger fish, with 12 runs to be constructed for raising fry and fingerling trout. FISH LOSSES RISE "Too low and too warm" summarized sum-marized vater conditions over much of the state as fish lo-ases continued con-tinued to add up from many Utah waters, according to the department depart-ment of fish and game. Heaviest trout loss to date has occurred at Strawberry and Hyrum reservoirs, with field reports listing dead fish showing up along the shores of Minersville, Kolob and some smaller rescrvoired waters throughout the state. The department said increased losses of fish can be expected as a result of the critically low water table, heavy draw-down of impounded im-pounded waters, and the record-breaking record-breaking heat wave of the past several weeks.
