The Speed of Cattle isn't really a new Archers album. For that, fans and the uninitiated will have to wait. Cattle singles compiles compilation cuts, live extraneous recorded matter. These gods of Chapel Hill, N.C., deserve applause, but an album of rare and raw material seems a little premature at this point. Why not release the stuff as bonus filler on the future -- CD Maybe contract fulfillment spawned this release. If you're a fan already, dig in. There's plenty of overlooked gimmickry to be mined, if you've got the cash. The unintiated would be better served by picking up Vee Vee or Icky Mettle.
