Ryan Shepherd Lance be featured women's conference The Lehi North LDS Stake Relief Society will hold its annual women's conference on Saturday, Jan. 30. The event will be held in the North Stake Center, 851 N. 1200 East. The conference starts at 9 a.m.; brunch will be served. According to Susan Price, president of the Relief Society, the theme is "To Each a Gift is Given," and is designed to strengthen the spiritual awareness of each sister in the stake. The keynote speaker at the conference will be Liz Lemon Swindle, artist who captured B. e Ferguson India and other areas, where the povershe saw first-han- d for the serneed the and ty vice provided by LDS Charities throughout the world. She has recently served as chairperson for an international project through CARE, through which more than 6,000 school kits and more than 2,000 birthing kits were distributed to areas in Africa and South America. The event consists of a Scout skills competition, a winter campout and a sled race. Each patrol constructs and races a sled; this year, sleds were made out of wood, vinyl and plastic. For the skill activities, participants stop at various stations, where they demonstrate skills they have learned or learn new skills, such as reciting the Scout oath and laws, tie knots or read maps. In the skills events, Troop 205 of the Lehi South Stake took top honors with 135 beads earned.
