"He was constantly cracking jokes and being humorous," Hatch said. "He magnified the light that shone through him. ..he was refined through constant cutting and polishing," he said. Hatch said that Elder Dunn was always searching for the best things in life so that others could find them, too. "Dunn was always looking for the lovely things," he said. Pres. Hinckley, the concluding speaker, offered words of comfort to Elder Dunn's family. He remembered the service offered by Elder Dunn. 'There are so many good things that could be said about Paul...(he was) a man who served well," Hinckley said. Besides his service to his country, Elder Dunn also served his church. He served as a seminary teacher in Los Angeles, as the coordinator of the LDS Institutes of Religion in Southern California, in the First Council of the Seventy and as president of the New England Mission from 1968-197Elder Dunn was named emeritus general authority in 1989. "He loved to teach, he liked to talk to people," Hinckley said. And, Hinckley said, "he left a tremendous impression upon his "feAI 1. students' lives."
