The Championships are a culmination of two months of early morning practice and intercounty contention at weekly bi and y meets, top three event times go on to the state championships which will be held next week in Ogden. Over 500 swimmers from the eight local county teams took part in the season's end competition including the novice meet which met on Wednesday, July 26th. The novice meet is for first year swimmers and those with beginning times. It is the fourth year that the county has held a novice meet which gives an opportunity for those qualifying to compete against others of their own ability. The Lehi Flyers won first place in six of the 42 novice events. Three of those events were taken by 10 Chris Clark. He was first year-ol- d in the 50 freestyle at 48.65, 25 yard butterfly at 23.92, and the 25 yard backstroke at 25.56. Nine year-ol- d Rosalie Gricius placed first in the 25 yard backstroke with a 22.58 tri-cit- O1990 Auttato Insurance Company, ' . ' ' the top ten were Lehi Flyer 8 year-olboys in each event.
