" - i.Tv" .J - Bryce Messersmith Melinda Stevens Sarah Smith Mark Quilter Six LHS students to serve at Girls' State, Boys' State , Four boys and two girls from Lehi High School will spend part of their summer learning about the workings of government through a program sponsored by the American Legion and its auxiliary. Scott Adam Cummings, Hughes, Bryce Messersmith and Mark Quilter will be Lehi's delegates to Boys State, which will be held at Weber State University. The boys' program is sponsored by American Legion Post 19, the Civic Lehi Improvement Association and First Security Bank. Sarah Smith and Melinda Stevens will represent Lehi in the corresponding Girls State program at Southern University. The girls are sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary and Lehi High School. Scott Cummings The son of Paul and Gaye Cummings, Scott is a member of e the track team and the two-tim- state champion cross country team. He was not only a team captain for the year, but was also a state individual champion as well. He is currently on of the top ranked milers in the nation. Scott is a member of the National Honor Society and maintains a 3.9 GPA while taking advanced placement and honors classes. 3-- A Adam Evans Hughes Adam, the son of Nila Hughes and the late Paul Hughes, is an Eagle Scout and a Hugh O'Brien ambassador. Adam is a member of the National Honor Society, the Lehi Singers, the Lehi Youth City Council and is a of the Lehi Cross Country team. He placed sixth at the state cross country championships and was voted to the Cross Country team. All-Sta- is a member of the National Honor Society and has received the National English Merit Award and the Presidential Sports Award. He participates in track and the Spanish Club and was on the newspaper staff. Bryce te Mark Davis Quilter stuMark is a dent who is taking five advanced Bryce Messersmith hard-workin- The son of David and Sue Messersmith of American Fork, Bryce was a member of the American Fork Youth City Council, where he served as fire marshall and city councilman. He attended leadership conventions at Utah State University and Southern Utah University and also attended Timberline Leadership Training with the Boy Scouts. He was an Eagle Scout at the age of 13 and has received his bronze palm. placement classes and maintains a 3.8 GPA; he is the son of Mark and Ilene Quilter, He is a member of the National Honor Society and was nominated LDS Seminary graduation planned for 0 youth requested that charges be dropped.
