Show Free Press Wednesday, August 17, 1994 - Page 6 Library to become 'friend1 to other libraries in need Now that the Lehi Library has felt the support of a Friends of the Library group, it will become a friend to two other special libraries through the donation of books that have been retired from the shelves. One of the recipients will be the Grand Canyon Community Library in Arizona, which burned to the ground on March 18 of this year. They are in dire need of any unneeded books, and the Lehi Library will be among the contributors, sharing many books which have so generously been donated here. Additional book donations will be accepted at the Grand Canyon Community Library, P.O. Box 518, Grand Canyon, AZ 86023-051The other recipient of the books will be the library system of the I Utah State Department of Corrections facilities at the Point of the Mountain. MaryAnne Roberts, a Corrections Officer and local library patron, told the Lehi staff that incarcerated prisoners have library privileges and enjoy reading. In turn, one of the benefits of their library program is the production of talking books for the blind, which are recorded by selected inmates for visually impaired citizens.
