Show Citizen. Press, Review Wed.. July 27, 1994 - Page Utah Regional Ballet acclaimed at international competition By BETTY FOWLER Utah Regional Ballet, under the direction of Jacqueline P. Colledge, has recently returned from Jackson, Miss., where they performed with five other region honor companies from throughout the United States. International Ballet Competition, a competition held every four years in the United States, sponsored the concert which showcased regional dance at its best. Through Regional Dance America's adjudication process, only six of the best honor companies in the United States were selected to perform. Utah Regional Ballet was chosen as one of these companies - a tremendous honor to Utah and the western states. The company received accolades from dance critics including Robert Lindgren, a dance impresario from California, and Barbara Crockett -- who is a member of the Regional Dance America Board. One artistic director from New Hampshire said, "Your company is disciplined, technical and beautiful. We would love to have you bring 'LegendofTimpanogos' to our state." Another California critic said, "Utah was the very best on the program!" It was noted that Utah Regional Ballet is the only dance company in Utah which is a member of Regional Dance America. Pulley's love for her job shines through in every situation, and agree that Pulley's positive attitude and nursing aptitude certainly qualify her to receive the employee recognition. Pulley is the only nurse at AFH to reach Level IV of IHC's Nursing Clinical Ladder. To maintain Level IV status, Pulley continues to donate 40 hours of service in local high schools teaching a three-daunit on human reproduction and off. Ten weeks ago Daniella arrived in American Fork . . . now called home. Daniella is 7years oldandknows very little English, but Pulley says it's fun teaching her and rewarding to notice daily improvements. Pulley loves the community of American Fork where she has lived all her life. She married her high school sweetheart after he returned from an LDS mission, and she says she has no desire to leave the community. Working with wonderful doctors and nurses on staff at AFH contributes to Pulley's desire to work at AFH until she retires. If that's the case, Pulley will be a veteran employee of 49 years and will have helped deliver three generations. A few weeks ago, Pulley was shocked to realize the woman giving birth was a baby she helped deliver many years ago! You know you're getting old when the babies you helped deliver start having babies of their own, she teased. Pulley and husband, Vard, have adopted two Romanian girls into their family of four sons. After making a trip to Romania three years ago(and cutting through a lot of red tape), Mickelle was able to come home, but Pulley was forced to leave Daniella behind. Several years of fighting to get Daniellaoutof Romania finally paid , 1 s is anxious to serve members of the American Fork community. "Many h V" people don't know we offer more than just basic hearing tests," she said. "Hearing aid fitting and repair is a service most patients usually take outside the hospital." Stone said AFH offers fair evaluations for hearing aid service. The hospital also features competitive prices coupled with a 40 day free trial to help guarantee patient satisfaction. Stone said she enjoys working with patients of all ages, including newborns and seniors. Portable equipment allows her to make outpatient as well as inpatient evaluations. "We'll go right to a patient's bedside if we need to," she said. Other available services include tympanometry (an evaluation of the middle earfunctions) and pediatric hearingevaluations.
