Regional Ballet to perform in Mississippi The Sound of Music The Hale Center Theater - Orem presents this classicial Rodgers and Hammerstein musical featuring American Fork's Brent Whitlock as Captain Von Trapp. The play runs Mondays through Saturdays, April 6 at 8 p.m. Reservations can be made by calling the theater 14-Ju- at 226-860- 0. Dan Peterson School Play The Dan Peterson School's annual spring play will be held Monday, April 25, at 7 p.m. at Barratt Elementary, 168 N. 900 East, American Fork. The play, "Doctor, Doctor," was written by Kerry Griguhn, an employee and Dan Peterson and involves all the students in fun things to do with music and dance. Back Stage This humorous look at theater life is appearing at the Valley Center Playhouse, 780 N. 200 East, Lindon of Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays through May 30. Curtain is 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $5 regular admission, $4 children, students and seniors, and $20 per family. Special group rates are also available. Colledge and performing members of Utah Regional Ballet have been selected by a distinguished panel of adjudicators to perform on the Regional Dance America concert in Jackson, Mississippi on June 30. Only six companies throughout the United States were selected to participate. Dance companies from all over the country were invited to submit tapes ofarecentdance performance to Regional Dance America Committee. The selection committee's task was a very difficult one. They were very impressed with the quality of many of the companies and the choreography, but, of course, only one program couldbe selected. Their choices were based on a number of considerations which included the quality of the choreography, the technical quality of the company and ultimately to arrange a diversified and interesting program that will show regional dance at it's very best. Peterson School will present their annual school Spring play on Monday, April 25, at 7 p.m. The play will be presented in the Barratt Elementary School audito- rium, 168 North 900 East, Entitled "Doctor, Doctor," the play was written by Kerry Griguhn, an employee at Peterson School. Final Steel Days auditions set Adult auditions for this year's Steel Days Extravaganza will conclude tonight. Final auditions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Utah State Developmental Center. Other musicals in this year's Extravaganza are "Les Miserables" and "The Sound of Music." Anyone with information should call Linda Gammon Peck, 768-397- Days of '47 committee accepting royalty pageant applications The Days of '47 is an annual celebration held in Salt Lake City during the month of July. It is in recognition of the Utah pioneers who entered the valley on July 24, 1847. A queen and two attendants are chosen each May to reign over the Days of '47 activities. Girls eligible to enter must have an ancestor who entered the valley before May 10, 1869 and be between 18 and 25 years of age. The Royalty Pageant will be held at the State Fair Park, Grand Build- ing, 155 N. 1000 West, Salt Lake City, on Saturday, May 21. New hours and locations are also being added to make it more convenient for parents to have their children immunized.
