Fowler, a recent graduate of Lehi High School, recently received a George S. and Delores Dore Eccles Foundation scholarship from Westminster College of Salt Lake City and has been selected to participate in the West- minster Honors Program. "These scholarships are awarded to attract academically strongresi-dentifreshmen to Westminster College," said Ruth Henneman, director offinancial aid. Recipients are selected according to their grade point average, test scores and other criteria. Only 25 freshman at Westmin- - , ster are selected for the honors program at Westminster, according to Craig A. Green, vice president for enrollment management. 7 al Coming Soon: "Westminster's program offers to freshmen of exceptionally academic ability the opportunity to take part in a curriculum which differs from the standard liberal education program taken by most undergraduate students, he said. g Through a approach in the program, the students' educational experience is enhanced by combining study with support of small classes. The children of James Wallace and Adalia Johnson will honor their parents on their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Thursday, July 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Fourth Ward Cultural Hall, 745 N. 600 West, Pleasant Grove. The event is open to all friends and relatives. They request no gifts. They have lived in Circleville, Springville, and American Fork. They currently reside in Pleasant Grove. They are the parents of six children: Wallace Patrick, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mark Hyrum, Mesa, Ariz.; Candyce, Orem; James Mi chael and Craig Ross, Pleasant Grove; and Russell Kay, American Fork, they also have 28 grandchildren and one Wallace retired in 1977 after a 26 year career as an officer at the Utah State Prison. He served in the military during World War II aboard a Navy ship. He is presently serving in the High Priest Group leadership in his ward. Adalia retired from the American Fork Hospital after 29 years in 1986 where she worked as a nurses aide and a ward secretary. She continues to substitute at the hospital and works as a volunteer. Michael Nelson accepts call Michael Nelson II, son of Michael and VeLoy Nelson, Lehi, has accepted a call to serve an LDS mission in Quezon City, the Philippines. lit!' CeoDiiiitfTO Michael is a graduate of Lehi High School. He attendedBYU and is presently employed at The Morris Center at BYU. He will enter the Mission Training Center on July 25. Travelers of all ages are invited to participate in a wonderful adventure at Yellowstone Park, Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, Jennys Lake, Old Faithful and more. The four-datrip will begin on Aug. 13 and end on Aug. 16. The itinerary includes departure from the Provo area, traveling north through Ogden, Pocatello with a lunch stop at Idaho Falls. Before arrival in West Yellowstone, a stop will be made at Big Springs in the Targhee National Forest, overnight at the Stage Coach inn in West Yellowstone, Montana. The second day's adventures ' include a bus trip in Yellowstone Park. Stops will be made at many favorite park spots, and overnight in the Frontier Cabins at Canyon , i Village. The third day's adventures in-- . eludes taking the Teton Park Road to Jenny's Lake, a stroll to see the Chapel of Transfiguration with its beautifully framed altar.
