Show Free Press - Wednesday, Aug. Interim pastor named for Community Church The Reverend Kenyon P. Kalves-ma- ki has been serving as interim pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church in American Fork since July 1. Previous to coming to American Fork, he served at the First Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City where he was responsible for Christian Education and Pastoral Care. He was also Protestant Chaplain at Fort Douglas Army Post in Salt Lake, a position he continues to hold. A graduate of Dubuque Theological in Iowa, he has served in churches in Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri and New York as well as in Utah. His wife Kathleen is "very supportive" with him in the ministry, and is a "leader in her own right," and is "gifted in music and teaching." She was bom and raised in Salt Lake City. They are the parents of five children a son in the U.S. Marine Corp in Colorado; a daughter in Salt Lake City; a son who is a second year student at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, a old old daughter and an son. I have really failed in love with these people. I am glad I'm here." He said he is here to "bring Christ's healing to this ministry." His goal is to two pronged, he said "first, to bring the peace and joy of Jesus Christ to the church and the community, and second, to help them (church members) in their calling of a new pastor."
