Hansen's selfless spirit and high energy level are evident in all aspects of her life. Although she recently had major surgery, she is up and actively working again weeks before the doctors expected her to be. She is currently pursuing a business management degree at Utah Valley Community College. Hansen and her husband, Chris, are the parents of two children. Outside interests include swimming, crocheting, camping and playing the piano. Helping a child develop a positive self image and avoid behaviors is one of the toughest jobs a parent has in this day of negativism and intense competition. American Fork Hospital will offer a seminar, "Kids Should Think They're Okay too," on Tuesday March 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. Joan Adams, professional nurse and mother, will help seminar participants develop skills in effective discipline, and in understanding their children. Parents will also develop skills in helping children grow without being controlled. The cost for the seminar is $6 per person, or $9 per couple.
