The Twins of Lehi have gone undefeated this season, 19 wins 0 losses. The team won it's regular season schedule against teams from Lehi, Alpine and Highland. After winning the season they traveled to the Spanish Fork State Championship Tournament where they won four straight games to take state. The Twins are coached by Chad Smith and assistant coaches Gary Shane Beecroft, Doug Gray, Atkinson and Todd Day. These coaches put in many hours of their own time and worked for one thing -to take state. Mike Perkins: son of Norman and Pat Perkins; first baseman and pitcher; Mike's height and long stretches saved many plays at first. Ren Steele: son of Ron and Pearl Steele, second baseman; Ren made great stops and assisted in several excellent double plays. rni Chad 'Jake' Smith - son of Chad and Carrie Smith; catcher and pitcher. Jake made some great pickoffs; the best of runners stayed close to their bag when Jake was on the mound. Brandon Crotts: son of Dale and Diane Crotts; pitcher, shortstop, Brandon shut down many batters with his fast ball. Britt Clark: son of Carl and Susan Clark, third baseman and fielder; came Britt is a switch-hittethrough with timely base hits. Jared Lindquist: son of C.J. and Maxine Lindquist; fielder. Jared made some great fielding plays and came through with some fine hitting. John Chamberlain: son of Eric and Jane Chamberlain; fielder, did 9th Grade football signup Scout Swim at Lehi Pool signup for Ninth Grade Football will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the high school. The fee is $40. Every boy in the ninth grade will be given the opportunity to participate, according to coaches, Rick Nelson, Shane Atkinson and Doug Beecroft. r, Just a reminder that Lehi District Scouts are still taking registration for their Scout Swim to be held Aug. 8, 15, 22 and 29. It will be at the Lehi Swimming Pool from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on each of these Saturdays. All boys of Webelos, Blazer, Scout, Varsity or Explorer age are invited to participate. The Lehi Yankees, coached by Gordon Miner, placed fourth; The Lehi Dodgers, coached by Rick Worthen, placed fifth; and the Lehi A's coached by Byron Tahbo, placed sixth. Heard any NEWS lately? I Friday Pinto State Tourney hosted by Lehi at Vets Chris Miller: son of Vera Miller; fielder; Chris became the Most Improved Player on the Twins team. Baseball Director Perkins extended congratulations to the Twins on their state championship. She also issued a sincere thanks to all the fans for their support. Thanks to Chad Smith for all the time he put in with the boys and for all the bruises he took. Gary Gray, Doug Beecroft and Todd Day kept the player awake on the bases and Shane Atkinson kept statistics and worked all the players into the games. During the tournament the Twins picked up Brian Peterson of the Indians and Jason Tahbo of the astros, as pitchers. Both players contributed greatly in the championship. Lehi had many fans in Spanish Fork for the championship game. Baseball officials want to thank them for their support.
