The performers in this production are Keith Christeson as Danvers, Rob Pope as Arlow Twiddlington, Jacquline Huish as Sheila Twiddlington, Kathleen Reed as Melissa Dabney and Muareen Eastwood as Mrs. Gouchet. The century setting for this play is great and so are the English accents. The humor is lots of fun. The third play is "Why I Am a Batchelor." is very It, too, humorous and there is a lot of truth in this one, also. It stars Grant Draper as the lecturer, Shane Barker as Algernon, Leslie Jorgenson as Henrietta and Marie Miller as the Girl. The lecturer sets out to prove why he is wise to stay a batchelor by depicting a series of incidents in courtship and marriage. This story has a fun twist at the end. In a little different format from the usual theater fare, the Valley Center Playhouse of Lindon is presenting a trio of one-aplays spoofing marriage during the month of November. is The "Marriage-Go-Round- " presented each Friday, Saturday and Monday at 8 p.m. at the Valley Center Playhouse, located at 780 N. 200 East, Lindon. The plays will continue through Dec. 1. All three of the plays are comedies and each one is very entertaining. The first is "The Diary of Adam and Eve." Starring in this show are Dave Roquemore as Adam and Debra Whitley as Eve. In a delightfully humorous way, the audience is led along through the lives of Adam and Eve as it might have happened, but everyone is sure it really didn't. Many of the lines bring forth hearty laughter. This is a very fun play. Most entertaining of the three plays, for me, was the second, "A Little Matter of We." One of the interesting things about this play is that it is probably a very true account. It is the story of a young couple who are celebrating their first wedding anniversary. As it turns out, each tries to please the other without really knowing what it ct The audience is certainly en- tertained with this variety of plays which poke a little fun at marriage. Though all three plays are different, they point out the little foibles that make marriage the great institution that it is. Tickets are $3.50 for adults, $2.75 for students and senior citizens, and " $13.50 for families. (1951, Musical) Fred Astaire, Russell his captive and prevent her escape. He turned and headed back to the cabin. First, he told George of his intentions to move the horses several miles upstream, above the point where the men could build a log barrier to keep the animals from returning to the cabin on their own. Then he marched unannounced into the cabin. "Take off your shoes," he said to Nellie. "Why?" Nellie asked, making no move to obey. "Give me your shoes," he said, his voice quiet but firm, "or I'll take you down and remove them myself." "You wouldn't do that!" "Yes he would, honey," Madge warned. "What do you want her shoes for?" Priscilla asked. Ben didn't take his eyes off Nellie, who was still making no effort to remove her shoes. "The shoes," he said, taking a deliberate step towards her. Nellie looked at the other women, hoping to rally support for her resistance to what she thought was an unreasonable demand. She had no idea why he wanted her shoes, but the fact that this bold young man demanded she hand them over was sufficient reason, as far as she was concerned, not to do it. "Never wrassled with a woman before," Ben said, slipping out of his coat and letting it fall to the floor, all the time keeping his eyes on Nellie. Finding no support from the other women, Nellie stepped back, feeling very cornered, still not wanting to give up her shoes and puzzled as to why he wanted them. "Tell me why you want them," she said, her voice sounding like she was about to cry. Her own weakness made her angry. "You just barge in here anrl demand my shoes like you can have whatever you want, like a spoiled child. No 'please,' no reason. Well, I won't give them to you." (To be continued) celestial did not reveal We or withdraw cannot marriage. renounce it. God revealed it, and He has promised to maintain it, and to We bless those who obey it. Whatever fate, then, may threaten us, there is but one course for men of God to take; that is, to keep inviolate the holy covenants they have made in the presence of God and angels. Presidency Epistle, 1885 Ben wasn't sure what he was going to do with Nellie Russell. He couldn't just let her walk back to the Green River crossing and catch a train to Salt Lake. She would write about the hideout. The authorities would find out whre it was and waste no time in going after the man who has shot two deputies in the foot and burned their boots. As Ben saw it, he had two alternatives. He could let Nellie go, then move the women and baby to a new hideout, an unsafe and difficult undertaking in the middle of winter, or he could keep Nellie around as a case hostage until spring, in which be added would probably kidnapping to the charges against him. With the time approaching for Pricsilla and Stella to have their babies, it didn't seem prudent to attempt to move them, and with Madge's baby so young, it didn't seem like a good idea taking it out in the weather. No, the women and baby would stay right where they were, and so would Nellie. But how could he keep her? He couldn't tie her up all winter. With the stone cabin the only building around, he couldn't lock her up. He couldn't watch her all the time, not with coal to get and game to shoot. It wasn't practical for him and George to keep constant watch "on her day and night. As Ben wandered along the small stream, Lobo running back and forth through the sagebrush, looking for a rabbit, Ben began to formulate a plan whereby he could make Nellie O HEADINOF THE CLASS g IMAGES WATERCOLOR DYNASTY g 8:00 O O MAGNUM, P.I.
