Dr. Clyde Miller, Denver, now Minister of the Rocky Mountain Conference. After the 1974 union of the conferences. Dr. Miller added, Dr. Skinner then traveled thousands of miles over the new Rocky Mountain Conference, going from eastern Wyoming to southern Colorado to northern Utah, as Minister to the Churches. He is "a great minister to youth, to mission, to the gathering and building of new churches, and as a minister to pastors of local churches," church leaders said at the Denver gathering where he received the award. in the Christian ministry. Since his retirement in 1977 as Minister to the Churches, Rocky Mountain Conference, he has been the interim minister of the Church, Kingsbury Community UCC, in Vernal, Utah during two different periods; of the First Congregational Church, UCC, Rock Springs, Wyo.; the Community Church, UCC at Orem; and, the American Fork presently Presbyterian Church. He has preached widely in Utah, the Rocky Mountain area, and elsewhere. The Rocky Mountain Conference, which was formed 11 years ago, commended Dr. Skinner especially for his role as the principal creator of the union of the former Conference, UCC of which he was the Minister (chief executive) from 1965 to 1974 with headquarters in Salt Lake City, with The Rev. The award is presented to one outstanding churchperson per year chosen by the Rocky Mountain Conference, which covers the states of Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. It commends Dr. Skinner "for years of dedicated ministry . . . with sincere appreciation." Dr. Skinner is a regional and national leader of the United Church of Christ and statewide of the Shared Ministry in Utah.
