' Free Press - Wednesday, April 1 - - Burfey's 9th Annual Drapery Cleaning ' ;fjj- Heather Lindquist 10, 1985 - Page 3 - Now thru April 15 Stefanie VVoffinden Lizbeth Anne Peck Girls vie for Miss Lehi title As the Miss Lehi Pageant com- mittee finalizes plans for the pageant on May 9, eight contestants are practicing talent numbers, rehearsing the opening dance routine, and trying to figure out and silently answer questions the judges may ask in the interview. The pageant will be held at Lehi High School and the aspirants for the title are selling tickets to friends and relatives. A trio of beautiful contestants are being announced this week by pageant chairman, Taunya Wilson. They are Heather Lindquist, Lizbeth Anne Peck, and Stefanie Woffinden. Heather Lindquist A blonde, stately blue-eyeHeather Lindquist, will seek the title of Miss Lehi on May 9. Heather, a daughter of C.J. and Maxine Lindquist, will graduate from Lehi High d School in May. An advocate of the arts, Heather has had several years of musical training on the piano, clarinet, voice, and dance instruction from Jacqueline P. Colledge. She will perform a classical ballet number for her talent presentation. Her hobbies indicate the enthusiasm she has for all facets of life as she likes aerobics, weight-liftinbicycling, dancing and reading. She has participated in ward sports including volleyball, basketball and softball. A high honor role student, she was in the homecoming royalty and a homecoming personality. She was also a member of the state championship debate team. When you catch Heather at home you'll probably find her listening to modern or clasical music, or tuning to Channel 20 where old movie classics are lighting up the tv set. Her future ambitions dictate that she earn a degree in psychology, and eventually becoming a psychiatrist. She finds the study of psychology to be fascinating and challenging. the Heather hopes, through exof worthwhile challenge periences, to excel and to progress as a whole person, to better herself in every aspect. Lizbeth Anne Peck per pleat on draperies general education degree with sights set on being a social worker. "I love to help other people, especially if they have personal problems. I like to help make other people happy." Another goal is to someday perform with a vocal group. 5-8- in tt length Stefanie Woffinden per pleat on draperies under 5 ft in length prospective graduate of the Lehi High School Class of '85, Stefanie Woffinden has indicated a desire to participate in the Miss Lehi Pageant. Lee and Doris Woffinden are Stefanie's parents. Stefanie has had six years training in modern, tap and jazz dancing, and will perform a dance for her talent number. Dancing will continue to be an important part of Stefanie's life as she would like to continue her training in all areas of dance, and communications. Even though she spends much of her spare time on the dance floor, she is also an outdoors enthusiast. and She loves biking, golfing swimming. She has brown eyes to hair, complement her honey-coloreand is a slender five feet seven inches tall. She was Homecoming queen, a class secretary, sophomore member of the Thespian and Gerof the man Clubs and dance company. Stefanie has traveled the U.S. from her home in Lehi to the Eastern seaboards, and has danced in several productions. She hopes to have a career in dancing or Communications. Stefanie feels that her two part-tim- e jobs, a delivery girl for Lehi Bakery and a clerk at Broadbent's A Lizbeth Anne Peck has accepted the challenge to compete for the opportunity to represent her community as Miss Lehi. Liz is the daughter of Tony and Janice Peck. She will graduate from Lehi High School this spring and plans to continue her education at a college or university in pursuance of a General Education degree. Liz has brown eyes, tawny brown hair, and is a trim five feet four inches in height. She has had training in voice, dancing, gymnastics, and drama. Her drama instruction helped to gain the role of" Snow White" in a Children's Theatre production. Liz didn't just sit around in high school. She was a standout on Lehi's great volleyball team and helped to represent her team in the state tournament. She also played basketball, was a member of the e track team and played fastpitch softball for six years. Despite all the sports activity, Liz found time to be freshman ZCMI a queen, homecoming ZCMI won the Youngtimer, and contest at Lehi, tablesetting with her fellow studentbody officers, helped to secure the first Lehi High School marquee. And, she was FFA Sweetheart, and a member store, have been confidence, builders and have increased her of the prom committee. Liz will continue her studies for a sense of responsibility.
