Show Citizen, Review, Press, Wed, August 15, 1984 - Page 16 Goodbye summer? Does it seem that summers are getting shorter and shorter while the time in between is getting longer? Such a perception of things may not merely be a sign of vanishing youth, according to E. Arlo Richardson, former Climatologist. Utah -- winters State appear to be getting dryer and somewhat warmer. season is generally -t-he fall becoming wetter. -- spring is tending towards cooler Recent climatic evaluations in Utah have shown that some interesting trends are emerging, Richardson says. Among them are: and temperatures precipitation- increased . - All of this suggests changes in the climatic circulation patterns that affect Utah, states Richardson. At this point, all we can see are the statistical correlations. The causes are only speculative and we are a long, way from confirming what they are, be says. Two apparent results, however, are a shortened summer season for vacationers and a restricted growing season for farmers and home gardeners. ' Although your summer fun in the sun may be on the decline, the climatologist hastens to explain that a climatic trend does not mean mat every year will provide .shorter summers and a wetter fall and spring. That's just the prospectus for the long run. r i"r- - . ""- - fcr-- ZlZZIeZel iiiifi mm Back To School Special Romar's Salon the little log cabin by Reams at $&t 990 E. State, Am. Fork 20.
