Several months ago the committee began working on a hunting ordinance that would limit hunting to the upper portions of the Town near Round Mountain and to the southeast of the Ranchos. The Planning Commission has also been helping with the project. At the last PC meeting, a proposal was approved and forwarded to the Town Council. The proposal does not restrict archery deer hunting. Essentially, the proposal makes it illegal to hunt with firearms within the Town to lot 446 on the de—annexation map been separated from the original lot 446 when Castle Valley Drive was re- located at the Castle Creek crossing. My apologies, Oni, for mistakenly including you in the petition. —Jack Campbell guideline that this community has lived under for many years. Darr submitted his “multiple dwelling” amendment to the Planning Commission this month. The PC unanimously recommended that the Town Council reject it. I have forwarded everyone’s renewal date by four months to compensate for the 3 missed issues. You can check this by looking at the upper right corner of your mailing label. I should have added four months to the original dates. Please let me know if I missed yours. No one has yet found a way that something like a simple guest house won’t lead to a serious weakening of the one dwelling per lot limit. Since people can already expand their houses to accomodate guests, relatives and even paying roommates, it seems a pity to jeapordize the openness of Castle Valley by radially increasing the ultimate number or residences in the Town. Not only are there quality of life problems, but there are potential impacts on our water and roads. The more people living in the same space, the fewer freedoms they tend to have and the larger their impacts on their neighbors. —Jack Campbell SOLSTICE PA RTY With this issue I am again sending out re—subscription notices.
