Show Castle Valley Residents March 8, 1996 Page Two learn more about the issues, including the relative benefits and risks associated with the two alternatives. Nevertheless, we want to take this opportunity to assure you that Atlas’ proposed plan for reclamation of the site meets all established criteria by the NRC and other governmental authorities with jurisdiction for reclamation of such sites. The proposed capping design will protect the environment and the public with an ample margin of safety. Atlas enjoyed its many years of activity and association in the Moab area and hope its many contributions to the local economy, infrastructure, schools and civic organizations are not forgotten as we work towards a safe and successful closure of the uranium mill and tailings site. Atlas appreciates your interest in the pending closure of the mill and tailings site and seeks your help in attaining final resolution and getting the site closed sooner rather than later. For those interested in more information on the technical issues related to Atlas’ proposed reclamation plan, there will be a public meeting Tuesday, March 19, 1996 at 6:00 pm. at the Senior Citizens Center in Moab.
