Show QUIET TIMES FIRE DEPARTMENT NOTES Some time ago we changed our meeting hours from 6pm to 9pm on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. The original hours, 7:30pm to 9pm, did not allow enough time for instruction and drills. Last summer our department was surveyed for approval of a more favorable insurance rating. We were approved for a Class 9 rating and that would, of course. be useful there. Unfortunately, smoke is a sedative and, if you are asleep, will not waken you. Remember one important thing. If you choose to use an extinguisher or hose to fight a fire, never let the fire get between you and your escape path.
