Show FINANCIAL TIMES - JUNE 15, 1995 - 7 LETTERS TO THE TIMES May 23, 1995 Castle Valley Times: As property owners but not yet residents of Castle Valley, Barb and I have tried as best we can to be supportive of the current residents of Castle Valley without inserting ourselves too directly into the day to day decisionmaking of the Town. We have felt that it would be presumptuous for us to be involved with resolving issues affecting people who we did not yet know. Therefore, we vote on issues as we are asked, and pay our POA dues in a timely manner. In the four years since we purchased our land, we have been succesful in meeting some of our neighbors in person or by telephone, but always wished we could seem more real to the locals. Consequently, it is somewhat ironic that the series of crises that seem to have gripped the Town in the past year (which we have followed through POA correspondence, the Castle Valley Times and other recent letters that chance that above ground power lines would ever encroach on our end of town. We would consider it a major breach of faith and a degradation of our property and the valley as a whole for any more above ground power lines to be constructed. If some town residents think the underground power line zoning ordinance is onerous to non—resident property owners, we just want to make it clear that we do not consider ourselves in that category. Not a day goes by that we don’t think about Castle Valley. W: hope we can contribute to helping it remain the very special place that it is. Best regards to all our neigh— DONATIONS APPRECIATED: Thanks this month to Eugenia Adair for her donation. All dona— tions are used exclusively for prin— ting costs. I have spent a lot of time recently on the phone with both old and new friends (you all know who you are), and I have to say I have been struck by how sincere you all sound about how deeply you care about Castle Valley and its future. If all that energy and fervor can just be pooled for consensus building and the common good, Castle Valley will not only survive, it will flourish! With regards to current controversies, we have just one on which we Wish to comment. We bought the property that we did (on Holyoak Lane at Castle Valley Paradise Real Estate 47 E.
