The victory was Lehi Coach Ken Wagner's first as a head coach and it boosted Lehi's record to 52-4- 8 Pioneer GORDON MINER (left and LeRoy Downs get set for a Gary had a game high 19 points and 14 rebounds. He sank two clutch free throws with 33 seconds remaining in the overtime for the team's victory. This was his first game after recovering from a injury. Brad Greenwood had 12 points and scored eight rebounds for Lehi. Asked about how his team performed, Wagner said, "We fouled a lot Friday. We were playing defense with our hands instead of our feet." He said the team did better Saturday in action against Payson. Lehi Unfortunately, didn't do quite well enough, and lost to "They were Payson just too big for us," Wagner said referring to the Payson Lions. Burningham, again, was the high game scorer, with 20 points. Mark Tuckett was the next highest Lehi scorer, racking up 12 points. Despite the loss, Coach Wagner said he saw some good ball playing on the bout during wrestling three-minut- e n practice. Matmen To Host Tourney The matmen from Lehi will host teams from all over Utah County Saturday in a tournament scheduled from 10 a.m. with finals beginning at 7:30 p.m., school officials say. Saturday's meet will climax a week of Region Six wrestling activity. It's expected to draw mostly local teams including American Fork, Payson, Orem, Provo and Springville, as well as teams from Juab and Roy. Assistant Coach Ken Pierce talked about wrestling and this year's team Tuesday. "I think wrestling must" be the toughest workout there is in high school sports. It's tA and you're out there by yourself exerting yourself sometimes to the point of becoming sick." He said that sick feeling isn't so bad to bear when one comes off the mat the winner, but it's mighty tough to work so hard and then get pinned, he said. So, he says, a wrestler must be physically and mentally tough. "I like wrestling, because it's not every sport which allows a little guy to be a winner." But he says a 140 pound wrestler from Lehi has as near a chance of winning a match from another 140 one-on-o- pound wrestler as possible. What makes the difference in the match's "- outcome is what Pierce describes as automatic actions and a good sense of perception. "A good wrestler doesn't have to think of what he'll do if the other guy gets the take down or he just pulls a reversal acts," Pierce said. And at the same time, a good wrestler is able to know where the other wrestler is all of the time, according to Pierce. 3 Baubl OuGrSime with a great attitude.
