JOHNSTON Bruce Johnston Dies, Funeral Held Tuesday Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, Lehi. Burial was in the Lehi City Cemetery. He Violet R. San Jose, California; Jay Brown, Brown, Cumberland, Ky.; Lloyd Brown and Mrs. George (Bonnie) Pulbury, both of Mrs. Rex Wendover; (Madge) Gill, Ridgeland, Mrs. Mac Oregon; (Betty) Havens, Lancaster, California; Mrs. Tom (Rae) Freeman, two Tucson, Ariz.; brothers and two sisters, John Earl Brown, Provo; William Wallace Brown, Si J U 3 and her family and for friends. Survivors include a son and daughter, Howard R. Nelson, Gicru, Mrs. Hyrum (Dorothy Ann) Bradley, Mesa, Arizona; two brothers and two sisters, Peter Hansen, Lehi; James C. Hansen, South Jordan; Lillian Crabb and Rose Ashton, both of Lehi; 14 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at Olpin Pleasant Mortuary, Grove. Burial will be in Lehi City Cemetery. ! Dies After Long Illness Funeral services for Merton Blaine Brown, 78, who died Tuesday, October 10, 1978 in a Provo hospital following a lingering illness, were held Saturday Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. in the Lehi 13th Ward LDS Chapel. The benediction was given by Alex Brown, and Mike Johnson dedicated the grave at Lehi City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were John Large, Tom Freeman, Jimmy Freeman, Mat Havens, Freeman and Billy Rocky Brown. The flowers were cared for and arranged by Lehi Thirteenth Ward Relief Society. Bishop Richard S. Fox officiated at the service. Leah Johnson played the prelude and postlude music, and a Verl D. Wadley, offered the prayer with family members. The invocation was spoken by Richard D. Sorensen. An interesting and inspiring biographical sketch was given by R. Lee Hansen. Mr. Manning was an athlete for Lehi High School, playing for the state championship in 1937. Vocal selections by Janet Romney, were followed by speakers Bishop Edmund C. Evans V. and Bishop Hoyt A Brewster, touching recording, "Old Sheep", by Bishop Sidney Manning was played, and consoling remarks were given by Richard S. Fox. Charles R. Burton offered the closing prayer, and the dedication of the grave at Lehi City Cemetery was by Martin S. Manning. Serving as pallbearers were Jay Manning, Neil Manning, John Manning, Martin Manning, Troy Ash, Richard Sorensen, Verl Wadley and Jerry Peck. of The profusion Holly Morton, Lily Southwick. He married Betty Johnson on May 5, 1909 in Elko, Nevada. Mr. Johnston worked as an equipment operator at Kennecott Copper, was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Armed Forces in 1956-5He is survived by his wife, of Lehi; one son, Tracey Bruce, Salt Lake City; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Vickie Lynn) Jones and Debra Ann Johnston, both of Salt Lake City; four assets....... married Scown December 22, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an electrician and a member of the LDS Church.
