Colledge's sacrifice fly before the side was retired to make the score In the fifth inning Spanish Fork hit a towering fly to center field, but Atkinson put it away in fine shape for the first out, then the Dons got three straight hits to score two runs. Cooper and Roseman teamed up to pick off an attempted steal at second and Colledge struck out the next man to put out the fire and end Spanish Fork's scoring. Lehi capped a great game in the ninth with Cooper leading off with a single. He then stole second, advanced to third on K Colledge's hit and scored on a wild pitch. Roseman singled Colledge home to end the game at Cooper had a good day with the bat with a walk, a single and a triple for four times up. She noted that he was the son of Walter Thomas and Isabell Hutchison Adamson. His mother survives him. Lehi Booster Club Organized Lehi High School supporters turned out at the high school auditorium to initiate the first-evattempt to organize a booster club in Lehi. Members of Lehi's first Booster Club elected Serg Nelson as their president and six others to positions on the club's board at a general meeting held Tuesday evening. Others elected to the board were Ken Carlton, the first vice president, Reed Street, the second vice president, Craig Dorton, treasurer, and board Fifty-eigh- t er members, Marie Adamson, Cheri Calton, and Glen Gray. Lou Andrus, who is the activities director at the high school, is an automatic voting member of the body. High school principal, Dale Price, will also act as an ex member of officio the board. The purpose of the Booster Club according to a blueprint is "to promote set of continuing and greater interest in all activity endeavors among the alumni and the friends of non-voti- by-la- Lehi Tennis Team Third At B.Y.U. Invitational The Pioneer tennis team vied for the top spot in the tennis honors last Saturday at the BYU invitational as John Welch lost in the finals to Jay Solberg of Grantsville in three sets and Steve Carlton and Bob Ellison lost in the semifinals to David Miller and Jon Howell of Manti. A very strong showing for the Pioneers as Manti and Grantsville probably rate just behind Cottonwood and Olympus as tennis powers in the state this year. While the top three Pioneer tennis players were involved in the invitational the balance of the team barely lost to Cedar City by a 3 to 2 score. Robert Welch won the third singles and the doubles team of Brent Dorton and Mike Ellison also won. Last Tueday Lehi overpowered the Payson team 0 as they took 11 of the first 14 games and were never threatened in that win. Wednesday the Pioneers downed Pleasant Grove by a 4 to 1 score as all three singles won and the second doubles. The only loss came in the first doubles. On Thursday the Pioneers lost a close and important match as they lost to Spanish Fork 3 to 2. Calton and Ellison won their matches, with Welch losing in a close match to Johnson (one of the top three A players in the state). Both doubles teams lost. The Cavemen outlasted the Pioneers in a slow match Tuesday by a score of 3 to 2. Welch had little trouble as he easily downed Scott Christensen Steve Carlton continuand 5-- r Speakers were Delbert r and participation in drama, music, debate, cheerleading, pep club, and the color guard as well as in the major athletic sports, basketball, football, track, and baseball. One of the main functions of the club will be to provide fin- e, ancial aid for the school programs when there is a need. First on the agenda of the newly elected committee will be to mount a full scale membership drive in the community, according to spokesman Ken Carlton. A goal of 150 boosters by fall has tentatively been set. friends can join the Booster Club by contributing a membership fee of $5 per person or $7.50 per couple. The membership fees are payable annually to any of the elected officers. Members of the club will also be involved in helping with fund raising projects and supportive activities. Dennis will enter the mission home April 29 and will go to Winnipeg, Canada. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Ferron Pace, formerly of Lehi; the grandson of Mrs. Leah Long of American Fork; Mr. and Mrs. George R. The single matches will be played at the junior high up to the semi finals and the doubles will be at the high school. The tourney will be played under double elimination. Four people at each position will travel to state the next week. The Pioneers should be in a good position to send a full or nearly full team to state if all play to potential. In the upcoming state meet Jordan looks to be the strong power with a number of teams showing strong challenges. LDS Mission Place for Her Treasures: 1 6-- c Doctor Faces fl Drug Charges Dr. Claude Ray Thomas, has been bound over to Fourth District Court for an arraignment on April 29 at 2 p.m. on four counts of obtaining a scheduled II controlled substance by misrepresentation, deception or subterfuge. He was arraigned in Orem City Court on five counts but the Utah County Attorney's office later dropped one count. Following his preliminary hearing in Orem City Court before Steve Grow, Judge pro tern, he was bound over to the district court. Each of the counts is a third degree felony.
