On this day all parents are encouraged to visit the school while the students remain at home. Mr. Price stated that it is hoped that 100 percent of the parents will make an effort to attend so that the progress of each student might be fully known and that parents and educators can become a unified team in the education of the youth. For the convenience of all who visit the school on this day, the schedule has been following prepared and parents are asked to adhere as nearly as possible to it: Parents whose last name begins with the letter A through F will visit from 8:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.; G through L, 10 to 11:30 a.m.; M through R, 12:30 to 2 p.m.; and S through Z, 2 to 3:30 p.m. There will be no conferences scheduled between a.m. and 12:30 p.m. 1 1 H iIu II 1 post-seaso- semi-annu- A little pride is a small thing to lose compared with honor. l l 11:30 executive secretary-treasure- r of the Utah High School Activities Association, as he described Lehi High School's chances of qualifying for league play under the present system. However, Tree stated that he thought that the appeals committee would consider the Lehi question in the "next couple of weeks" and that the question would definitely be resolved by the time basketball n play begins. The UHSAA constitution states that local school boards can make a formal request to an appeals committee composed of the state superintendent of public instruction the president of the Utah school boards association and the president of the UHSAA. This committee considers "whatever the facts in an appeal are of such importance as to warrant the special consideration of the commission," and when the commission makes a decision, it is 'final and binding.' According to Tree Lehi has several directions that it can proceed to change the system that it finds itself in at the present. If the appeals committee chooses not to consider the question Lehi can approach the legislative council of the UHmeetSAA in their ing probably to be held in December to ask for a change. The overwhelming victory of Duane Woffinden, winning by nearly 200 votes over his nearest competitor, indicates the popularity of the Lehi native and his soft-se- and friendly approach ll to local politics. Julian Mercer who ran as an Independent without party affiliation, garnered a surprising 357 votes. A first in Lehi's election procedure occurred this year with the innovation of nonpartisan politics. The Democrats stayed with party colors but the Republicans declined to name candidates but generally supported the new Progressive Party nominees.
