Show THE Lehi Wins P.G. InvitationalTourney The first annual Pleasant Grove Invitational Softball Tournament was won last week by a team of local athletes. Members of the team included: Elroy Colledge, Marlin Barnes, Joe Adamson, Bob E ccles, Larry Phillips, Dva-yn- e Colledge, Peldon Barnes, Scott (Toby) Adamson, Ben Wool- - MP) Greenwood C arpets. Each member received an individual trophy. A large team Trophy was presented to Mr. Greenwood and is on display in the window of Greenwoods store. Marlin Barnes was also presented a trophy for the outstanding pitcher in the sey and Craig Drary. The team was undefeated in five games, playing teams from Pleasant Grove, Manilla, and Lehi. There were fourteen entrants from Orem to Murray competing in tournament action. Lehi Group Returns From Eastern Tour While at the Hill Cumorah Pageant, Lehi people, Klea Ernst, Ora Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Randal Schow, Lela Lott and her granddaughter, Diena Brennan visited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones who are serving a mission in the East. The Jones' send a hello message to all their friends in Lehi. They are residing in Sunbury, which is near the flood devastated area in Pennsylvania. Mr. and Mrs. Jones told their friends of the terrible destruction there, stating that trailer homes and buildings had been swept away like match sticks. They said that the situation after the flooding was unbelieve-abl- e. They were checking and assessing the damage done to homes of church members there. UTAH STATEJfiEOsSOCIATION - The Greenwood Carpet team won the Championship Trophy at the Pleasant Grove Invitational Fast Ball Tourney. Marlin Barnes, team pitcher, won the leading pitcher trophy. Team members include Joe Adamson, Jason Adamson, bat boy; Bobby Barnes, bat boy and holding one of the individual trophies won by each team member; and Ken Greenwood, holding the large team trophy. DAVID FEATHERSTONES WELCOME BABY GIRL CHAMPS-- Lehi Boys Chosen on Intermountain Tennis Team competition in the recent Scera Tournament in Orem. He also won the singles and again teamed with Cooper to take the doubles in the 1972 American Fork City Tennis Tournament. The Lehi Little League Tennis team of which these boys are members took second in the Tennis League comprised of teams from Provo, Orem, Pleasant Grove, American Fork and Lehi. Bishop Joe Shelton coached Little League Tennis in Lehi this summer but underwent surgery before the finals so the boys competing had to go it alone, and are to be congratulated on their fine showing. John, who is also a member Two Lehi boys were chosen as members of the Intermountain Junior Tennis team. John Welch and Robert Ellison were selected from a field of tennis players from Manti, Juab, Springville, Provo, Orem, Pleasant Grove, American Fork and Lehi. Welch is ranked number one on the team and Ellison is number three. Bob E ccles, American Fork, is the coach for the Intermountain team, John has a long string of tennis honors behind him despite the fact that he is just 14 years old.
