Show 71 Former Lchi Woman Rates (ritasdEbd cfb Around the World Dream Trip The old cliche "Local boy makes good," could refer to a demure, but dynamic local gal, namely Newey Austin DeMille.' Her success story reads a little bit like a page from Cinderella, complete with fairy godmother! Some years ago Newey left Lehi for sunny Arizona. She worked for several years in a jewelry shop there, then opened a little shop of her own on Scottsdale's Fifth Avenue. She called the shop Dos Cabe-za- s, which means Two Heads, but she wore more than one hat per head. She imported fur and fabulous and furnishings from fabrics Mexico, did interior designs between buying trips south of the border, and did everything else a successful shop owner does, including sweeping out the shop. One of her patrons over the years was a woman from Milwaukee, whom, for purposes of this story, we shall characterize as "internationally famed." (Fairy godmothers are sticky about using their real names, you know.) One day the internationally-fame- d appeared in a shaft of sunlight as Newey was uncrating those Mexican candleabra with all the flowers and animals and things. "I COMMAND YOU," she said", "to accompany me on the long most luxurious est, poshest, cruise around the world ever conceived by the mind of man." Magically, two staterooms on the S.S. France appeared in the hand of the fairy godmother that didn't hold a wand. And so, our local gal, Newey DeMille, makes good, and with her famed patron, wealthy, (fairy godmother) embarked from ay New York on a cruise ernment will oblige with a spe cial freighter and tour buses. More than 40,800 tons of fu el will be consumed on the trip and sometimes refueling will be done by chartered tankers. The S.S. France will distill 350,000 gallons of water daily from seawater It'll be a le grande cuisine all the way, of course, so Chef Henri Le Huede is taking along 130 cooks to help with his specialitiesand steak for les isn't exactly one of his specialitiesbut caviar is no problem at all. Some passengers booked one stateroom to sleep in and ano ther to stow their ballgowns in. Some, of course, are bringing along their maids, dietitians, hairdressers, and astrologers. There is fear among the ship's personnel that 1,200 people stay ing in a moving gilded cage for three months could become rest less. But Arizona's sole passenger, the Scottsdale Cinderella, plans to live happily for all 90 days of dreamy cruise's life. Newey DeMille, the Scotts dale Cinderella and former Lehi resident, is a sister to Virginia Yerke, Minnie Krenka, and Zella Kelsey, all of Lehi. Newey's daughter and son live in Scottsdale. 90-d- Pay Cash for Classifieds owine to the increased eroense of book keeping, it is necessary to have all Free Press Classified adver -- All classified ads should be in hv Mnnrfav night to get on the classified page AUTOMOBILE! In addition, the orders quote of the and sections Utah County ordinances, stating these sections "have not been complied with." ed 4-- -2 Section says: "No per son shall blast or carry on any blasting operation without first having obtained a permit from the sheriff." Chief Deputy Sheriff Mack Hol- ley today said he does not remember when a permit for blasting was issued to either firm. County Atty. Arnold C. Roy- lance reported the county is in terpreting the ordinance to mean that a permit, when issued, will state the lengtn or time it is effective. He added the coun ty also is going to require a schedule of blasting that is to be done during the length of time. "The other section quoted in the "cease and desist" orders concerns manufacturing or pos session of explosives. This section states: "It is prohibited for any person to manufacture, keep, sell, give away or otherwise dispose of any ex plosive or explosives in Utah County without first making writ ten application for and recei ing a permit from the Board of County Commissioners, . Again, length of permit time is not specified. After receiving the orders, re presentatives of the two firms were in touch with county com missioners today. Lakeside Lime spokesman said they were planning a blast for this week and commissioners decided the company was to notify the county of the exact time of the blast so it could be moni tored and observed.
