SMITH RON ELLISON at the Sego Lily Elementary School will present an operetta in connection with the annual PTA election meeting next Thursday, April 22, it was reported by Paul Hanson, principal. All parents and the public are invited to attend, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium. There will be no charge. The operetta is entitled "The Saga of Dead Dog Gulch" and is Lehi American Legion Post to Send Eleven to Boys State Operetta Tonite 19, of the achievements, general aptitude and personal qualities, through the aid of Principal Dale H. Price and the high school staff. They are all prospective high school Seniors. There were 17 outstanding boys selected, and it is with regret, Commander reported, that it is necessary to send only eleven of them. Col-led- ge Boys may be sent on the basis of the membership in the local American Legion Post, it is explained - one boy for each 10 members in the post. JUNE Boys State will be held at Utah State University in Logan during the week of June 6, through June 12. Dennis V. Finch will accompany the boys from Lehi, American Fork and Pleasant Grove, as to God Award this summer. He has served as secretary, counselor and president of his Priesthood quorums. His favorite hobbies are hunting, fishing, camping, horses and motorcycles. He works with his father in mechanics and plans to study toward a degree in that field. He works driving tractorsfor farmers during the farming season. participated in the prize winning appearance in Canada with the band. He played on the varsity football team, was in the Junior High School play and also played on his church basketball team. He has served as president of his Explorer Post and has also served with the Order of the Arrow. Former president of his Sophomore Seminary class, he is now Junior vice president of Seminary. He has been awarded the Duty to God Award for church activity, has participated inward road shows and assisted in decorations for the Stake Gold and Green Ball. He has served as Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. He follows farm. employment JOHN HAWS John Haws is serving as president of the Soar Laws Club and is an officer in the Thespian Club. He served on committees for his Sophomore Slide dance and also for the Junior Prom. Space Ambassador for the State of Utah, he represented his high school at the Science Symposium. He also represented the State of Utah at the Space Seminar at Cape Kennedy. The presentation is under the direction of Brent Milne and members of his fifth grade class comprise the cast. The operetta takes place around 1850 in a mining town in Colorado. There are two rival mining companies in the town, the Podunk Mining Company and the Rose Bud Mining Company. The Beautification Society wants to beautify everything in sight, which causes problems. PRIVATE CLUB Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hoover and their attorney, Robert McCrae, Mr. Swenson and Mr. Cobbley, came to discuss the request for a beer license in their "Mr. G's" store. After considerable deliberation the report was given that the Council is infavorof Mr. Hoover converting his restaurant to a private club, but that the majority would not favor issuing the beer license to the "Mr. G's" business. Attorney McCrae stated that he will forward an application for the private club license, to the city.
