Scout Troop 815 Holds Awards Banquet at Lehi Riding Clubhouse The Lehi Riding Club Building provided a lovely setting as members of Troop 817 of the Boy Scouts of America attended their eighth annual awards banquet sponsored by the American Fork Lions Club Saturday, Feb. 14. Troop committeemen are B. Harold Mendenhall, chairman; LaMar Argyle, institutional William Thornton and Frank Leitner, camping and activities. Troop leaders are H. Paul Mendenhall, scoutmaster and Glen M. Woffinden, assistant scoutmaster. H. Paul Mendenhall called the meeting to order and introduced the master of ceremonies, B Harold Mendenhall. The opening nraver was offered by Mrs. Will iam (Betty) Thornton. This was followed by a musical selection bv Ronnie Arevle and David Wag staff, who sang and accompanied themselves on the guitars. A delicious turkey dinner pre- Dared by the mothers and com mitteemen's wives was served to 35 euests. Mrs. Frank Liet- ner and Mrs. Harold Mendenhall were Following the dinner, a report of yearly activities of the troop, prepared by Scoutmaster Paul Mendenhall, was read by Harold Mendenhall. Scoutmaster Men denhall and Mr. Woffinden also conducted a Court of Honor. Tenderfoot badges were awarded to Kenneth Fackrell of American Fork and Rodney Thompson and Larry Thomas of Lehi. Eieht fishing and one per sonal fitness merit badge were awarded to troop members. Paul Arrington of Lehi achiev ed the rank of Life scout and this was presented to him in a special ceremony. CANDLELIGHT CEREMONY Closing exercises included an impressive candlelight ceremony conducted by Paul Mendenhall, Glen Woffinden and Leonard Fackrell, senior patrol leader.
