Amber 4 tended After the death of her first husband, she became a beautician and her love of art had to be set aside in order for her to support herself and three growing boys. Since then her interest has been kept alive by class and group instruction. This past year she has enjoyed the instruction of Lillian Webster and Carol Harding along with the pleasure of meeting with this group of five women each week. Dr. Robins noted also six stages parents go through in searching for help when there Is retardation in the family. These Gloria Montgomery was born to Mack and Alton Davis of Heber City. She graduated from Wasatch High School where she was very active as advertising chairman, as a member of the student council and later, srved as second vice president. She and her husband, Bart Montgomery, are the parents of two children, Lisa Kaye and Shel ley Dawn. Mrs. Montgomery attended night school at BYU for one year. She also studied art at the University of Utah for two years. She served as Heber valley news reporter on radio station KOVO for one year, was Wasatch County Fair ArtShowChair-ma- n in 1969 and stage decoration chairman for the 1969 Miss Wasatch contest. At the present time, she is displayer for "Home Interior - InMln-ntapoll- Fair. . Mrs. Erickson said these donors have been very encour aging and although she has painted all of her life,' she is rinding herself more vitally Interested in art than ever before. Phyllis Jacobson was born In Idaho and raised in Salt Lake City. She marrledElmoJacobson and they have four sons and even grandchildren. They have lived all their married life In Heber City. Mrs. Jacobson has been inter ested in art all her life but waited until her family was raised before taking up painting. She startedby taking some Adult Education classes. Never had I realized how many fascinating shades there are in plain snow, or a drab sagebrush, the different hues in a tumbling tumbleweed. Barren mountains seemed so dull and now they are so interesting with exciting new colors. An old building was just an eyesore, now it comes alive with rustic beauty and I can visualize the mode of the era when it was shiny and new." .; Carol EvansErlckson was born and raised in Lehi, Utah. She married Lee S: Erickson, who Is a veterinarian. They moved to Heber City eight years ago and set up a large and small animal practice. They built their clinic next to their home and between assisting with the business and being a mother of three children, Mrs. Erickspn says she has very Uttle time for art work. She has studied art at Utah State University, Hood College In Maryland and has taken private Instruction whenever time has permitted. Her painting "Evening Flight" is one of her works to be exhibited in the Am. Blaine Karren and sons, Ronald, James and William, came from Los Angeles, Calif. With them in a group of friends were LaVar Oldroyd and Larry Serney. Also from Lehi went Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Thomas and children, Eric, Bryce, Yvette and Dixie. From Orera went Mr. and Mrs. Alan Robinson (Geraldine Beverly) and son Curtis. They all visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Redmond (Thelma Beverly) in Monroe, and set up their camps in Monrovian Park. All those of hunting age were successful in taking out their deer. The Blaine Karren group returned to Lehi with the family group, and enjoyed fishing in Provo Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Greenwood (Opal Karren) were hosts at a family dinner at their home. Gary Boyack, Program Chairman along with Mrs. Grant (LaReal) Mace and Paul Christ -opherson, Vice President, have planned varied and interesting programs for the coming year. The next meeting will be held November 19. Mrs. John Cunningham of Provo, President of the Utah County Association for Retarded Children recently was appointed by Governor Calvin Rampton to serve on the State Advisory Committee for Handicapped Children.
