Show Pioneers Lose Thriller to Orem Trounce Payson Last 75-5- 5; Pioneers won one and lost one last week in league play in RegionFour. They lost aheart-breakto Orem, then came back later in the week to trounce Payson The loss came at the hands of the Orem Tigers on the Orem floor. Orem jumped to a 15 point lead early in the game and then saw it vanish; then came ahead again with a 11 point lead and watched as the spunky Pioneers came back and take the lead; and then the Tigers came from behind to grab the victory on a last second shot. It took a full quarter for Lehi to gain their poise against Orem and in the meantime Urem had a lead big enough to almost insure them a victory. In the second quarter Lehi came roaring back 1 and outscored the Tigers at half-tim- e. and trailed only 29-The rally continued into the third quarter when Lehi tied the to make a new 1 score at ball game of what had appeared to be a runaway. Orem snapped back and made 11 straight points to take a 42- 31 lead and again it looked as if the Pioneers were doomed. However, in the fourth quarter Orem didn't score a point for four minutes and the Pioneers hit 12 straight to take the lead at 4. The lead traded hands and in the final minutes Lehi lead then Orem dumped a bucket and one foul shot to change the lead, 1. Mark Petergiving Orem son came through again for Lehi with a layup to tie the score at 3. With 28 seconds remaining, Lehi got control of the ball and called a time out in order to work for the final shot. However, the Orem guards quickly forced a turnover on a perfectly situaexecuted double-teamition and Kent Peterson of Orem layed one in the final seconds to give Orem the game. Mark Peterson was high point man on the floor with 25 points. On Friday evening the Pioneers outshot Payson to romp them on the home floor.
