Rasmussen are among the 37 Utah National Guardsmen graduating from Officer Candidate School this week. They attended OCS for 54 weeks including two summer camps. During their training they were given courses in infantry tactics, map reading, drill and ceremonies, leadership, Army organization, instruction techniques and infantry weapons. Upon graduation, the new officers are assigned to various units in the Utah National Guard. 2nd Lt. Jay W. Angus is resh, ident of Sandy; Lt. Peck, Nev.; and Lt. Rasmussen, Hyde Park, Utah. They received their gold bars during special award ceremonies Saturday. Lt. Hadfield was presented the' award as the outstanding graduate, of the Utah Military Academy, OCS program in ceremonies at Camp Williams. He was awarded the Silver Sabre for being the honor graduate which includes leadership, academics and tactics. He has been a member of the Utah National Guard for ten years and has been a full time employee for the past five years. He worked in the Lehi Unit for three years and for the past two years has been with the American Fork Unit. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hadfield of Lehi. He is married to the former Elaine Haws and they are the parents of two children,; a son, 2 years old and a daughter, 3 months old. They have been residents of American Fork for the past three years.
