Show 'Plans for Higher Education in Utah," will be the topic presented by Dr. Merle E. Allen, director of the Coordinating Council of Higher Education in Utah, to members of the Women's Legislative Council of Utah County, at their December meeting. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 1, at 9:30 a.m. in the Eldred Center in Provo. Dr. Allen has his B.S., M.S., and Ed. D., and has attended Weber College, U of U, Cornell University and Colgate University. A member of the Phi Kappa Phi honorary fraternity and Phi Delta Kappa national educational fraternity, Dr. Allen has served as Dean of Students, ' ist at Weber State College. He was also president of the Weber College Faculty Association. She is a graduate of the Con tinental College of Beauty, and is an active member of the Lehi Third Ward. Mr. Anderson graduated from the American Fork High School, where he was affiliated with the Future Farmers of America organization. He played on the basketball team with the American Fork Ninth Ward. He is currently a second year student at Snow College inEphralm, where he is president of the LDS Institute class. He has fulfilled a mission in the West Central States Mission. LEHI CAMPS, DUP, TO HOLD CHRISTMAS PARTIES DECEMBER 8 of the four Lehi camps, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, will Three hold their Christmas parties Thursday, Dec. 8, as follows. All members are reminded to attend. Evansville Camp will convene in the Third Ward Relief Society room at 1:00 p.m., with Captain Helen Udell in charge. There will be a special program and 50 cent gifts will be exchanged. Fort Wall Camp will meet at 1:30 p.m. in the First Ward church, with Captain Thelma Roberts in charge.GIfts of one dollar value will be exchanged. Snow Spring Camp meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Fifth Ward church, with Captain Rhea Vance in charge. A Christmas dinner will be served and 50 cent gifts will be exchanged. SMITH, CALLS HOME, SENDS GREETINGS Mr. and Mrs. Howard Yerke enjoyed a telephone call from their son, Elder Jerry A. Smith, now located at Rock Springs, Wyoming. He has been in the mission field for 14 months. He reported that he is doing well and is enjoying his mission very much. He sends the greetings of the season to everyone and would like to hear from anyone who would like to write. VISIT FROM NEVADA Mr. and Mrs. John Rowley enjoyed a. visit from family members from Nevada and Idaho. Mrs. John Palmeri and Mrs. Joe De Carlo, daughters of Mrs. Rowley, came from Calient e, Nevada. After the ceremony, refreshments were served. Smith are announcing the marriage of their daughter JoAnne to Allan Smuin home, 140 South, First West, Lehi, and meet the recently wed couple. Marriage vows were recited August 19, 1966, in Abbiville, South Carolina. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hardy have' been honorably discharged from military service. Sp4 Hardy served with the U. S. Army in Viet Nam. He is the recipient of the Purple Heart with four clusters; the Distinguished Service Medal, the Viet Nam Service Medal and medals for Exand Pistol pert Rifleman, M-achievements. A veteran of 15 months service in the Women's Army Corps, Katherine served in the medical corps. She trained at Brooks Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, and later served in the hospi-ta- o at F ort Jackson, South Carolina. The young couple are making their home in American Fork. Mr. Hardy is employed with the Edo Electrical Firm in Salt Lake City, in the manufacture of parts for missiles and' satellites.
