Show "ffatas The season's final games for Little League Football were held last week at Lefci High School. They brought forth the crowning of a League Champion in the Utah Valley Football Conference. Crowned champs of the league were the Packers of LehL The Packers defeated the Lehi Giants in die finale. Packers - Giants Midway through the first quar- ter Packer Craig Jorgenson re- covered a fumble to set up the team's first score. Kim Cooper lofted a nice pass that Lane Wil-so- n caught for a first down on the ten yard line. Blake Trane then powered for eight, with Chris Wengren scoring the touchdown from the two. Fullback Trane plunged over for the extra point and the Packers led, 0. Late in the second period, the Packers scored again with a pass from Cooper to John Worthen, the big ground gainer in this sustained march from their own 25. Chris Wengren again climaxed the drive leading at half-tim- e 7-- 13-- 0. During the third quarter action a pass line of the Giants to again tally for the Packers. Wengren went wide for the ex- Packer Cooper intercepted on the rd tra. In the fourth quarter, Wes Innes of the Giants on a good run went into the end tone on a 43 yard scoring Jaunt only to have the play nullified by a penalty as the final score read, Packers, 20, Giants, 0. In addition to those mentioned playing very hard for the Giants were Kirk Evans, Lane Downs and Bruce Ellison. For the champs in addition to those named, Ron Wing and Craig Jorgenson looked good. In the first quarter, Brett ' Howes directed the Colts on a march with fullback Doug Rich- ards going in for the score from the two. Richards again scored for the Colts early in the second period , of play, with a pass from Mickey Rodgers, the big gainer in the , lrlve. Rodgers with a great exhibition of open field running, returned the second half opening kickoff all the way for a 50 yard touchdown, as the Colts went ahead, 18-- 0. After an exchange between Rodgers and Richards, a potent one-tw- o punch moved the call to the Brown's 22. At this point a nice pass from Howes to Glen Matthews resulted in a score. Bruce Bowen, quarterback for the Browns, rang up a touchdown from the two, with two sparing runs to get the ball into scoring position. Allen Alexander went .
