This class work, conducted by Mr. Adamson In a four hour "block period. Is designed for special students Included In the Ninth to Twelfth grades. He keeps close contact vlth the 15 students In this category, tutoring them on an Individual basis In science, mathematics and language arts, as well as current affairs, a history class. This instruction Is being carried on In an attempt to meet the needs of these special students to provide the Information necessary for them to carry on useful lives. He also handles general mathematics in the Ninth Grade, with 27 students. Mr. Adamson, who attended school In Lehl, up to the Tenth Grade, is a graduate of the Granite High School in South Salt Lake. He received his bachelor's degree at Brigham Young University in 1960, with a major in psychology and a minor in chemistry and mathematics. He spent another year at the Y" to attain his teaching certificate and also carried a full graduate load of courses last summer in preparation for this type of teaching. He taught science and math at North Summit High School In Coalville for two years. 'While at the Y he was ; affiliated with a gymnastics team, specializing in the fly- ,.' lng rings,, acrobatic stunts and tumbling. He played trumpet in the marching band. He was j; employed for four years at the BYU Press as an offset print er. During high school, he was ' in the marching band, tumbling ?.: club and served as boys' representative on the student council at Granite. In the Army National Guard j Medics for ten years in Ameri-ca- n Fork, he has recently In. the Air Reserves in Provo. : He has fulfilled an LDS mission in Western Canada. Between his mission and further schooling, he was employed by the General Electric Supply Company in Salt Lake City, as advertising supervisor. He left this position to obtain his degree. While in Coalville, he was scoutmaster for two years and also served as City Civil Defense Director. He has taught the Elders Quorum, served on the Stake Sunday School Board and also; as ward clerk. He is . currently teaching in Sunday School, Course 19, "The Articles of Faith." Lt. David P. Milestone j - DAVID PHIL ADAMSON Commonly known as "Phil," Mr. Adamson is a son of David W. Adamson, well know member of the Lehl bank staff, and Arlene Phillips Adamson. He is a grandson of Mrs. Alice rhllllps. Among close rela tives who have followed the teaching profession are Lillane Anderson, Marie Goates and Ada Robinson, of Lehi. With his wife, Alice Jean Jnnes Adamson, and their three sons, David, six, Robert, two, and baby Michael, now three months old, he lives in Provo. His wife has attended BYU and was for merly employed in the merchandising field. Among her church activities is teaching In Primary. She was formerly as sistant work director In Relief Society. Phil Is well on the way to attaining the master's degree in part time study at the "Y". It seems he has time for some recreation which includes hunting, athletic sports" and basketball. Her son Reid Hutchlngs, who visited here last week, telephoned from Downey, Calif. Another son, Avery Hutchlngs, of Pocatello, Idaho, sent his congratulations by telephone.
