Show CIVIC CLUB INSTALL NEWOFFICERS Bingham Canyon Women's Civic Club closed its 1957-58 club year with an installation tea held at the Civic Center at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, May 14. The tea table was covered with a lovely white cloth centered with a crystal bowl of tulips and lilacs, and crystal candlesticks holding pink tapers. Bouquets of lilacs and tulips also di-conited the meeting room. Mrs. R. G. Steele, club president, presi-dent, greeted the members and 1 guests and conducted the short business meeting. The club prayer pray-er was given 'by Mrs. Sam Feraco and minutes of the March and April meetings were read by Mrs. James Xanthos, recording secretary. Delegates to the state convention, Mrs. W. E. Granquist and Mrs. Marvin Throckmorton, gave a short resume of the convention con-vention proceedings. Special guests were Mrs. La-Dean La-Dean Long, district president, and Mrs. Wayne Roberts of Tooele Too-ele and Mrs. Rayola Smith of West Jordan. Two song selections were given giv-en by tlhe Bingham High School, the Misses Copper-Tones Janeal Bair'btn, Peggy Berg, Janice Nix, Maria Smith and Jean Spencer, directed by Merlin Sorenson, music mu-sic director at Bingham High School with piano accompaniment accompani-ment by Mrs. Sorenson. Mrs. Long, district president, conducted the installation of new officers, who 'were installed as follows: president, Mrs. R. C. Stevenson; first vice president, Mrs. Marvin Throckmorton; second sec-ond vice president, Mrs. Joe i Dispenza ; recording secretary, Mrs. John Tangaro; corresponding correspond-ing secretary, Mrs. S. W. Jacques; Jac-ques; treasurer, Mrs. Ross M. Oushing; historical, Mrs. Joe Bithell, and member at large, Mrs. Steele. Presentation of the past presi- dent's pin to Mrs. Steele was made toy Mrs. Glenn Huetoncr, a past president. After the program and installation, instal-lation, delicious refreshments were served by the outgoing officers. This is the last club meeting until September, it was reported. |
