That is the question you will be asked by the Utah County Sheriff's Jeep Patrol who are putting forth an all out effort to add Skin Diving and Mountain Climbing Equipment to their Search and Rescue Unit. This essential equipment will make them more fully prepared for a broad coverage of their search and rescue missions in Utah County. A Universal Jeep will be given away Oct. 19, to the winner holding the lucky- ticket issued for each one dollar donation. The Utah County Sheriffs Jeep Patrol was organized for the purpose of filling a definite need In our County for an organized search and rescue unit. These men give freely of their time and equipment when called to aid those in distress or in times of disaster. The members are affiliated with Civil Defense and have First Aid Certificates. The Red and White Jeep of the Utah County Sheriffs Jeep Patrol has become a familiar sight on the highway and in Civic parades, and activities. Much publicity has been given to the known search and rescue activities but only people who have been in trouble which could have meant walking out of the mountains and deserts several miles to obtain aid can fully appreciate the numerous times that each of the thirty members of the patrol has rendered aid and assistance. Each member of the Patrol is required to own, equip and operate a four wheel drive vehicle at his own expense. Periodic inspections are made to insure constant maintenance and full equipment in top condition, and ready to go. The Utah County Sheriff's Jeep Patrol is one Unit of several Units within the State affiliated with the State and National Association. This Jeep Search and Rescue organization originated in Bountiful, Utah. Utah at the present time has more members than all other states combined. This inspired group of men is gaining recognition throughout the United States and growing by leaps and bounds. Mrs. Brunson lived in Juneau where she raised choice flowers, during 16 years residence. A book on Alaska was displayed. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Alice Humphrey, in honor of her recent birthday. Mrs. Humphrey, long time garden club member, made recordings of the voices of those present. Mrs. Margaret McMillan, club vice president, took charge and discussed events to take place in the near future. These include the annual convention in Salt Lake City, and the proposed mum show.
