AUGUST 17, 1961 Miss Norma Robinson, Elwyn Peck Plan Temple Wedding August 25 Friday, August 25, is the date circled for the wedding of Miss Norma Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Robinson of American Fork, and Elwyn Peck of this city. Mr. Peck is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Odell Peck, with whom he makes his home. Glenn Wings Attend Coast Convention can Fork Fourth-Nint- h Ward church. All friends and relatives are invited to atte'nd. Receiving will be from 8 to 10 p.m. Miss Robinson is a graduate of the American Fork High School and LDS Seminary. While in school she was Junior Varsity cheerleader. She was an attendant to Miss Swim and Dive in 1957, and is active in church functions. She is currently employed in Amerian Fork. Mr. Peck, who graduated from the Lehi High School and LDS Seminary, took a prominent part in athletics, in baseball, football and track- He also attended Brig-haYoung University. He fulfilled a mission to the New England States and is active in church afs fairs. He is employed at the Powder Company plant at Mr. and Mrs. Glenn J. Wing have returned to their home after spending a most enjoyable ten day vacation on the West Coast. Going by way of Las Vegas, Nevada, they arrived in Long Beach, Calif, where six days were spent. While there the Wings attended a National Convention of the Electronics Division of the General Elec- tric Company. Many side trips were enjoyed including a trip to Farmers Mar- ket, Knott's Berry Farm, Disney- Sheilah Robinson, Max Merryweather Married in Elko Of interest to the many friends of Sheilah Robinson is her marriage to Max B. Merryweather of Provo. The couple motored to Elko, Nevada, and were married August 6. The new Mrs. Merryweather, a native of Cornwall, England, came to Lehi from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, just over a year ago. She has been employed at Durfey Cleaners. Mr. Merryweather is employed at Dugway. In the lovely patio at the home of Mr. Merryweather's sister, Mrs. Dean Brooks of Pleasant Grove, a delightful reception is being planned for Saturday, August 19, from 9 p.m. Close friends and relatives are cordially invited to at tend. The couple will make their home in Lehi. 7-- Miss Renae Russon Takes Position With Lever Bros. Miss Ranae Russon left for her return to New York City, after two weeks here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Russon. She has accepted a position as Home Economist in Food Research for the Lever Brothers Company, located at Edgewater, New Jersey. The trip east was made by jet flight. Leaving Salt Lake City at 7 a.m., she arrived in New York at 4 p.m. Miss Russon, C. L. Riding of Orem. Gail Lynn Spjut. 5, son of Dr. and Mrs. Philip Spjut, underwent onsilectomy. August 9. Denzel G. Turner, electronics techician in the U.S. Air Force for the past nine years, received his discharge at Travis Air Force Base, near San Francisco, Calif., and has returned to Lehi. He is visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Denzel Turner and other family members here. His wife, the former Denise Lamberti, of New York City, is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Hein in San Rafael, Calif. With her are the children, Denzel Gregory, Elizabeth Lee, Michael Scott and Rebecca Lynn, now four months old. Techician Turner has been stationed in Honolulu, Ha waii, for the past 10 months. Both he and his wife have been active in LDS church affairs. He served in the Branch Presidency while in Japan and reports that many Jap anese are joining the church. His wife was a teacher in Relief at the Johnson Branch in Japan. While in Hawaii, he heard the reports of numerous missionaries from Australia, who told of the rapid increase of membership there. He spent two years in Japan and also served in Korea and in Taiwan, in Nationalist China. Denzel reported that he had met several from Lehi while in Honolulu, including Elder Mark Whipand Navyman ple, missionary, Ronald Penrod, who lived nearby. He operated a television shop for So-ie- ty The Central Utah Peace Officers Association held their annual summer party at Canyon Glen, Wednesday, August 9. Those from Lehi attending were Sgt. and Mrs. Neldon Evans, Chief of Police and Mrs. Tony Ferkdvicch, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Clemn Turner and Berl Peterson. Lehi made an outstanding show ing in the pistol competition, reg ceiving 4 out of the 10 awards given. Receiving the pins were Sgt. Evans for second place and sight-seeinRay Edwards for third, both in the Master class. Chief of Police Ferkovich placed third in the Ex perts and Berl Peterson, third in the Sharp Shooters class. Newly elected president for the coming year was Ken Harris, Highway Patrolman from Lindon, who replaces past president, Dave Reynolds, Deputy Sheriff from Orem. Exchange of news was enjoyed. The entertainment committee, in charge of the breakfast, included, Dorothy Southwick, Mel-b- a Clark, Norine Fox, Helen Christensen, Lilith Peck, and Udine Wing.
