Everyone is invited to' spend a cool evening dancing with Cedar Fort Plans Big July 24th Celebration begin at 5:30 pm, will again highlight the day's events. This will take place high up on the mountain side, with cool canyon breezes adding to the enjoyment of the occasion. There is plenty of parking space and the grounds have been completely renovated. The rodeo will be strictly amateur, but will include many seasoned and experienced riders who promise a thrilling show to all who attend. Wild stock will be brought down out of the canyon for the purpose. Anyone under 21 years of age who desires to register for rodeo riding must have a release from his or her parents, according to Dick With everyone in the community cooperating, Cedar Fort is putting the final touches on prepar- ations for their annual big Pioneer Day celebration, to be held July 24. . The public is invited to join with the residents of Cedar Fort in observance of the coming of the Mormon Pioneers to Utah, July 24, 1847. Events of the day will be typical of the entertainment enjoyed at that time, yet with the modern touch to highlight the main features of the day. David M. - Jaivis Plan September Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Kennith I. Welcker are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter. Miss Sylvia Jean Welcker, to David Michael Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley B. Jarvis of Provo. Thursday, September 14, is the date circled for the wedding, to take place in the Salt Lake Temple. An open house reception will h be held in the Ward church, Friday, September 15. Miss Welcker is a graduate of Lehi High School and LDS Seminary. She sang in the A capella choir, was a member of the Pep Club, and received a four star Thespian Rating. She served on her Junior Prom committee and was much in demand for music and dancing activities. ' She is the recipient of the gold award from the Federated Music Clubs, has studied at Classique Charm School in Salt Lake City, and is also a student at the University of Utah, majoring in ballet and art. She has taught dancing during the past several years and plans to open her own dancing studio this falL Featured in solo dancing and singing throughout the state, she was Lehi National Guard Queen, and a state finalist for "Days of '47 Queen." She has attained her Individual Awards ir. church, sang in the choir and has held chorister and organist positions in Lehi and Salt Lake City wards. First-Sixt- Mr. Jarvis is a member of the National Guard and received his six months specialized training at Fort Ord, Calif. He is a graduatf of the Orem High School He has attended Brigham Young University and will continue his study of electronics in Salt Lake City, as an employee of the Electric Co. Evening Dance A celebration in Cedar Fort would not be complete without the evening dance, scheduled to begin at 9 pjn. Good music will be provided and th dance floor is in top residents and others Interested will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Proceeds will go toward the ward building fund. This will be an opportunity for buyers to obtain souvenir articles from many parts of the state, and also aid in bringing about a new church for Cedar Fort. Letters have been sent out inviting former Cedar Forters and residents in wide spread areas to send gifts for this purpose. They will be left in their original wrappings, to be opened by the lucky purchasers. Morning Parade Opening feature of the day will be the miniature parade to be held at 10:30 a.m. Residents and firms of Lehi are invited to place floats in the parade and children may ride decorated bicycles," push bring their pets or just walk in costume in the line of march. A program will be given at 11 a.m. in the ward hall to be followed by afternoon games and a softball game at 3:30 p.m., under the direction of the YWMIA.
