The collision resulted when a motorist from Canada slowed down at the tavern, believing it to be a coffee shop, with the intent to obtain refreshments. With him were three other passengers. No damage resulted to this car. ; The four cars were traveling south. The two cars following the Canada vehicle were unable to get around it due to the traffic on the inside lane.
