Thalian Club Ends Season Now that the Thalian Club year has ended, last year's officers have turned over to the Lehi Hospital Board money that club members sarned from selling "Crumbles" candy. Vicki Allred, past president, and members of the club's sivic committee, Barbara Hun-sakand Geneva Bourne, gave the money to Alice Broadbent, a nembe" of the board, last week to be used for hospital improvements. New club officers were elected some time ago; however, it became necessary for three of them to resign. At the club's closing social held at Ralph's Truck Inn, were conducted. Barbara Hunsaker is the new president; Ann Proctor, vice president and Geneva Bourne, the new historian. These and the other new officers are. already making plans for another civic project for next year In hopes that the club will be able to make some contribution to another worthwhile cause in the community. Keds WISE MISS SYLVIA JEAN WELCKER Kay Holmstead Recite Vows in Temple Wedding Mary L. Gillison, Exchanging marriage vows in "ites solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 15 were Miss Mary Louise Gillson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Gillison of Portland, Oregon, and R. Kay Holmstead with Elder EIRay Christiansen, temple president officiating. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr, and Mrs. Rex Holmstead. Accompanying the couple to the temple were the bridegroom's mother; his brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. Hal Holmstead: and the bride's sister an 1 from Connecticut, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh West. That same evening an op?n house was held in honor of the Ward newlyweds in the First-Sixt- h chapel. On June 19 they were al so in feted at a wedding reception Portland in the bride's home ward. For the open house only a small bridal party greeted guests. They stood before six large mirrors accented by garlands of white daisies and ivy. The bridal gown was a floor-lengt- h model of taffeta with a full skirt that swept to a long train in back. The fitted bodice was styled with long sleeves that tapered to points at the wrists. The rounded neckline was cut in a leaf outline and was accented by sequins and seed pearls. Her veil of sheer illusion was elbow-lengt- h and was caught to a tiara of taffeta and pearls. She carried a white orchid surrounded by pink roses. Attending the bride at the open house as matron of honor was Mrs. Hal Holmstead. She wore a dress white cotton, street-lengt- h with blue brocade on it. Her sole bridesmaid was Jayne Holmstead who was gowned in a pink taffeta model with a bouffant skirt. Little Jan and Lori Holmstead, who wore blue and white polished cotton dresses acted as flower girls. Standing with Jan was Craig Holm stead, the bridegroom's brother, and standing with Lori was Gordon Holmstead. The two boys were dressed in white coats that resembled the white dinner jackets and black trousers. The bridal attendants and flower girls all carried nosegays of pink and white carnations arranged in the shape of a heart. For her daughters open house, Mrs. Gillison chose a gold taffeta sheath with a wide collar of the same material, and Mrs. Holmstead wore a blue lace street-lengt- h sheath. Their corsages were pink carnations. Hal Holmstead the bridogroom'r brother, performed best man dut-tie- s and Keith Powell took care of the ushering. Greeting guests at the door were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Webb and Mrs. DeVere Fowler was seated at the guest book. Mrs. C. O. Holmstead was in charge of serving, assisted by Tresa Zupan, Susan Ellison, Susan Holcomb. They served guest? at individual tables centered by a bowl of pink carnations.
