He had lived in Salt Lake City for some 25 years and was formerly employed at Hill Field Air Force Base. Mr. Slater was born in lohi. June 21. 1S92- a son of Joseph and Margaret Ann Thomas Slater. He took a prominent part in athletics. playing on the baseball team at Lehi. and also in Salt Lake City. He served with the Marine Corps during World War I. He was married to Jane Karren in the Salt Lake Temple. His w ife survives him as do two sons, Neil Slater, Murray and Quinton Slater, IWillard, Box Elder County; a brother Raymond Slater.
