I has been contributed to date by parents of Lehi Eelementary school children for the P. T. blacktop project, according to Mrs. Dean Price, P. T. A. president. It is the aim of the P. T. A. to raise $600, which-- , the School Board will match, to cover the playground area with blacktop hardsurfacing. Parents are being asked to contribute 50 cents per child for the project. Mrs. Price emphasized that this should not be confused with the 50 cent membership fee for P. T. A. The two are separ ate. In past years, the parents have contributed monev to eive the children three parties during the school year. This year the parties have been eliminated, and parents are being asked, instead, to give the money for the blacktop project. Mr. Ash has given $200 to the fund from the Elementary School fund, and they expect, also, to receive some monev from thp salc of school pictures this year. All proceeds from the pictures, with the exception of the photographer's fee, will be given to the fund. P. T. A. officers emphasize that hardsurfacing the playgrounds will elminate the mud and dust which are a source of distress to A ved.
