A charcoal broiled steak supper was served in Little Mill camp to the employees and partners, followed by a program, with Mr. Clark as master of ceremonies. A male quartet, Stanley Clark. Dusne Woffindrn, Ralph Wing and Alvin Schow represented Iehi on the program, singing selections with guitar accompaniment by Stanley Clark. Clark in Assisting Chairman arrangements were Vern Ferguson, American Fork canyon, Clouid Stone. Vineyard, Grant Fvans, American Fork, and Nile Harris of Lindon, and their wives. Funeral Service Held For George Whitman (Continued from Front Page) In 1908 he began working for the Utah Fire Clay Company, and maintained this position until 1916 when he left to work for Charles Earl at the Earl Eagle Mine in American Fork Canyon. From there he went to the mines in Eureka, then back again in 1920 to the Utah Fire Clay Company, where he worked until 1938. On November 15, 1938 he was injured in a cavein in the mine at Five Mile Pass, and since that time had been unable to work He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints August 7, 1949, and held the office of elder in the Fifth Ward at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, one son, Jay Whitman, Richmond, California, and four daughters, Mrs. Georgia Peterson, Mrs. Ellis (Wil-- ; ma) Sorenson and Mrs. Douglas (Lucille) Ashton, Lehi, and Mrs. Vancss (Phyllis) Lott, Toppen-isWashington. There are 2 grandchildren and 25 Bishop Harvard R. Hinton conducted the services. Ruth S. Banks played the organ preludial and postludial music, and accompanied the musical numbers The opening number was "School Thy Feelings" by a male quartet, Alvin Schow. Stanley Clark, Var Clark and Ralph Wing. Invocation was offered by Bishop Warren L. 'Goates, former ward bishop. The biographical sketch was "read by Blake Lott, grandson of the Whitmans. Bishop E. N. Webb, whose parents emigrated from the same town in England that the Whitman family had come from, was the first speake Ada Robinson, A ladies trio, Vera Trane and Leota Peterson sang "It Was For Me." President Virgil H. Peterson, former mem-"bof the stake presidency, was 'the concluding speaker. Following another selection by the quartet, "Let the Lower Lights "be Burning," Bishop Hinton gave brief closing remarks, and the benediction was offered by J. Freeman Royle. Special request of the Whitman family, "Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling," was played as a poftlude. The grave in the Lehi cemetery was dedicated by David Peterson. Pallbearersw ere all grandsons of Mr. Whitman: Nile and Von Sorenson, Valno Peterson, Robert and Ronald Whitman of Richmond, Utah, and Blake Lott of Topponish, Washington.
