Guy Overman to Aid Makes Many Friends Jaycees In Vets Ball Park Project A city grows and prospers by reason of the public spirited men and women who take an active interest in its development. Utah and Salt Lake Counties has its share of these civic minded people and ne who is deserving of special mention is Mr. Guy Overman. Mr. Overman is of the Overman Mattress Co. in Provo and Salt Lake City, and not only in his business activities, but also in his attention to civic duty he has assumed a postion of the utmost prominence in community affairs. Mr. Guy Overman has always been ready and willing to contribute his time and energy to the promotion of any project which promises to benefit the community as a whole. He has often sacrificed his personal interests to be of assistance to this city. His efforts are deserving of commendation and support. The readers of this paper can do no less than to give Mr. Overman full consideration when the opportunity arises for reciprocation for his many services. We congratulate the man on his real value to Provo and the territory he serves, and wish for his continued success. In an effort to assist the Veterans Committee in completing the Veterans Memorial ball park, Lehi Jaycees wil spend two nights next week working at the field, and they urge other citizens, as well, to contribute their tune to this .vorthwhile project. Jaycees have agreed to designate Tuesday and Thursday of next week as work nights, and they urge other resident interested in seeing the ball field completed, to come out and help. The fence along the front of the field is yet to be completed, and footings must be dug for the grandstands. All volunteers are urged to come and bring a shovel to help with the project. The ballpark is a community enterprise, and all tand to benefit from it once it is completed. er High School Pep Club Cake Sale Thursday The Lehi high school pep club and their mothers are sponsoring a cake and pie sale, Thursday (to day), beginning at 12 noon, in Wathen's Shoe Shop on Main Street. .The girls and their mothers will provide a fine array of baked goods, convenient for company meals during the cele bration. Proceeds will go' toward new costumes for the coming school season. Plans for the project were made at a Mother's tea at the home of Donna Evans, last Monday. Mrs. Alta Wanlass and Mrs. Dorothy Evans, Pep Club Mothers officers, are in charge. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Lind and family of Salt Lake City, were Sunday guests of Mrs. Lind's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George P. Price. Mr, and Mrs. Neldon Evans and children, Sandra, Bobbie and Jay, visited in Orem, Sunday, with Mrs. C. L. Riding, mother of Mrs. Mrs. Riding suffered a Evans. broken left arm in a fall at her home.
