Guard Unit Receives "Superior" Rating at Inspection A rating of "superior , the rehighest rating which can be ceived, has been achieved by the Lehi unit, 1457th Engineers Combat Battalion, in a Sixth Army inspection conducted last week. The guard received "superior" in administration, supplies and maintenance, according to company officers. A rating of "satisfactory" was received in the training program. Supervising the inspection was Col. B. M. Kitchen, inspector general from Sixth Army headquarters at the presidio in San FranHe was accompanied by cisco. Lt. Col. Harry E. Co. and Mrs. Stice is employed in the superintendent's office at Reno. Mrs. Doran C. Lewis visited at Vernon K. Nielsen home, Here from Monday afternoon. Mather Field, California, she is visiting with her mother and other relatives in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Lewis is a sister-in-laof Earl Lewis, fiance of Miss Arlene Nielsen. the Missionary Fund Banquet Successful The banquet sponsored by the 127th Quorum of Seventy was an outstanding success last Wednesday. President Oscar A. Kirkham represented the general authorities of the church. Proceeds were added to the missionary fund. Keith Larsen was master of ceremonies for the affair, which was held in the Third ward chapel. An interesting program of music and speech selections was furnished by Brigham Young university. President Kirkham spoke briefly. Some 120 were present, including the quorum members and their wives, High Council and bishoprics of the Second, Third, Fourth and Seventh wards and their partners. Keetch Baby Dies At Hospital Kathryn Keetch, five days old infant daughter of ElDon and Colleen Taylor Keetch, born at the Lehi hospital, Thursday, May 7, died at 5:45 p. m., Monday, May 11, of a respiratory failure. Survivors are the parents and one brother, Craig, of Lindon, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley B. Keetch, Lindon, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald R. Taylor, Lehi. Funeral services were arranged for Wednesday, May 13, at 1:00 p. m., at the Stanley B. Keetch home in Lindon, with Bishop Ercanbrack of the Lindon Ward in charge. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery "under the direction of the A. H. Wing Mortuary. in WE GIVE S&H GREEN STAMPS- - WE GIVE S nOljMnR & I B 4 The Lehi Stake music and dance festival will be held next Thursday, May 21, beginning at 7:30 p. m., it is announced by Mrs. Iona Hadfield, stake activity counselor in the YWMIA. The music festival will be hold in the stake tabernacle, with the dancing to follow. The dance festival will be held on the high school campus green if the weather permits. This will furnish a lovely background for the spectacle. If the weather is unfavorable, the dancing will take place in the high school gym. For the music festival, each ward will prepare one or two numbers, either vocal or instrumental. There will also be several selections by the MIA chorus, under the direction of Miss Norene Felt. Varied Dance Numbers Over 100 young people are expected to participate in the dancing festival. Demonstration dances scheduled for the all church festival In June will be presented. This will provide an opportunity for local residents to view these lovely performances. Special pastel colored dancing frocks will be featured by the "all girls" group which includes MIA Maids, Junior Gleaners and Gleaners. They will present the fox trot frolic. Beehive girls and boy scouts will present four dances, the miniature waltz, schottiche. Virginia Reel and Texas Star. They will wear their respective uniforms.
