A picture of grace and rhythm, the three senior girls symbolize the Pioneer spirit wherever the Purple and White appear. Resplendent in their colorful purple and white outfits, the girls have ment slated for March 18, 19, 20, 21 are on sale for $9.00, according to a bulletin released by the Utah High School Activities Association. Reserve seat season tickets are the only tickets sold in advance. Prices are the same for the "A" and "B" tournaments ex cept for the reserve seat season ticket. The "A" tickets are $6.50. The Class "A" tourney gets urv der way today, extending through Saturday. As a convenience for local fans season desiring to purchase tickets, Principal L. B. Adamson will accept requests until 7 p. m. Friday. In some respects preparation for cheerleading is about as exacting as conditioning for athletic 'competition. For the last two years the girls have begun rehearsals in August. At least an hour a week throughout the season is used for drill and the development of new routines. Creating their own outfits has been an interesting project. The trio helped design their costumes and made them all. As they are active members of the Future Homemakers of America, clothing design is perhaps second nature to the versatile cheer leaders. Joanne is president of the GAA, has served as historian of the FHA, color guard of the of the Junior band, is prom, and is on the editorial staff of the school paper and Lehision. She plans to attend college where she would like to major in business. Michel has served as president of the Biology club, secretary and treasurer of the FHA, was a delegate to Girls State in 1952, and has been a twirler in the band for two years. Michel also plans to . attend college, possibly electing to major in pharmacy. It will be given to the best citizens of the school. The student council has selected a committee of 7 students to submit the names of a senior, junior, and sophomore. The committee then gives their 21 names to the student council who chooses "the 9 best names and then the faculty picks the best of the names submitted. The award is based on DependHonesty, Cooperation, ability, Loyalty, and Industrious ness. The faculty selects a winner each month and the person chosen most by the end of the year will get an award and his picture will be placed in the yearbook. John Jolley, Kenneth Goates, and Paul Trane were the first month's winners. Donaa Rae Jones, Jane Eddington and Paul Trane were February's winners.
